• No Brexit trade deal yet as serious issues remain, British minister says

• Stranded truckers fume as they wait to leave UK after COVID blockade

• ANALYSIS-Investors bet weak dollar will keep risk rally going in 2021
Investors are counting on a weakening dollar to boost rallies in everything from U.S. stocks to emerging markets and industrial metals in 2021. Record-low U.S. interest rates, massive financial stimulus and a growing appetite for risk are among the catalysts that contributed to the dollar’s 6% drop against a basket of its peers year-to-date, putting it on track for its weakest year since 2017.
BEFORE THE BELL
U.S. stock index futures were higher as investors remained optimistic about a U.S. stimulus package even after President Donald Trump threatened not to sign the bill. Gold prices rose, helped by a weaker U.S. dollar. European stocks got a lift from Brexit deal hopes and Asian stocks rose, helped by electric vehicle stocks in South Korea and China after LG Electronics announced a production deal. Oil prices steadied, after earlier losses sparked by an unexpected rise in U.S. inventories. U.S. weekly jobless claims numbers and durable goods data for November are scheduled for release later in the day.
STOCKS TO WATCH
• Amazon.com Inc (AMZN). The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on Tuesday it has issued a warning letter to the company’s Whole Foods Market for not labeling some products for the presence of food allergens, which led to a series of product recalls. The supermarket chain, which was bought by Amazon in 2017 for $13.7 billion, has recalled more than 30 food products in the last year as the presence of major food allergens was not listed on product labels, the agency said. The products were mainly from the deli and bakery sections of the store, the FDA said.
• American Airlines Group Inc (AAL). The company is beginning the phased return of furloughed workers after the U.S. Congress passed a pandemic aid package with $15 billion in payroll support for airlines, its executives said in a staff memo on Tuesday. "While pay and benefits will be restored right away, people will be asked to return to the operation in phases," Chief Executive Doug Parker and President Robert Isom said in the memo, released by American. American said the relief would help airlines serve passengers once the pandemic subsides, and in the nearer term, aid in the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and other critical supplies.
• Apple Inc (AAPL) & Tesla Inc (TSLA). Silicon Valley billionaire Elon Musk said on Tuesday he reached out to Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook "during the darkest days of the Model 3 program" to discuss the possibility of the iPhone maker acquiring Tesla for a tenth of its current value. "He refused to take the meeting", said Musk, CEO of electric-car maker Tesla, replying to a Twitter chain which cited a Reuters story on Apple looking to produce a passenger vehicle by 2024 with a new battery technology.
• Deutsche Bank AG (DB). Donald Trump's longtime banker at the Bank will be stepping down from the German lender, with the move coming as the bank looks for ways to cut its relations with the U.S. president. Rosemary Vrablic, a managing director and senior banker in the lender's wealth management division, recently handed in her resignation, which the bank accepted effective as of year-end, Deutsche Bank spokesman Dan Hunter said in an emailed statement. According to the New York Times, she arranged for the lender to grant hundreds of millions of dollars of loans to Trump's company.
• Pfizer Inc (PFE). The company is close to striking a deal with the U.S. government to supply at least tens of millions of additional doses of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate next year in exchange for a government directive giving it better access to manufacturing supplies, the New York Times reported on Tuesday. An agreement could be announced as early as Wednesday, the newspaper reported, citing people familiar with the discussions. Separately, Dubai will start inoculating people with the COVID-19 vaccine produced by Pfizer and BioNTech for free, the emirate's government said, joining Saudi Arabia which last week became the first Arab country to begin using this vaccine.
• Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc (SUPN). The company said on Tuesday its experimental drug for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) met the main goal of a late-stage study in adults. The drug, SPN-812, was better able to improve symptoms of ADHD compared with a placebo, the company said. SPN-812 is currently under review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of ADHD in children 6 to 17 years of age. Supernus said it would meet the FDA in January to discuss the application. If approved in children, the company said it would file an application with the agency for marketing SPN-812 to adults in the second half of next year.

Wake-up call: Dow lager, Nasdaq dicht bij record, AEX herpakt zich
Goedemorgen
